Cait Telford is a Melbourne based multi media artist who is currently studying her Master of Fine Arts at RMIT University. In 2009 and 2010 Cait was shortlisted for the augural Siemens Fine Art Scholarship Award and the RMIT Honours Endowment Scholarship Award (2010).
Caits work explores the commodification of digital intimacies
through interdiscursive and performed interventions and the recontextualization
of subjective and commercial elements of networked publics.
Through her work Cait encapsulates the key elements of networked
publics critique and social phenomenological and consumer culture theories that
suggest mediated and network publics are redefining intimacy’s value,
cultivating exhibitionistic and voyeuristic behaviors and commodifying intimate
communications and spaces.
